At Saraland Middle School, all advanced level, academically rigorous courses are identified on students’ schedules as Pre-Ap.
Pre-Ap is the abbreviation for a Pre-Advanced Placement course. These courses are designed to prepare students for the Advanced Placement courses that are offered at the high school. Through the AP Program, middle school and high school teachers are forging a partnership that will span the middle and high school curriculum, resulting in students who are academically challenged and ultimately prepared for the AP examinations which are administered through the College Board.
At Saraland High School, the Advanced Placement or AP program provides students with an opportunity for learning that goes beyond just facts and figures. The rich course material, classroom discussions and demanding assignments typical of AP courses will help students develop the content mastery and critical thinking skills expected of college students. What's more, by participating in AP, your child has the opportunity to earn college credit and to stand out in the college admission process.
